Laser Tattoo Removal

Safely fade unwanted tattoos over time using advanced laser technology that gradually breaks down ink.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Q-switched laser technology delivers very short, high-energy pulses that are selectively absorbed by tattoo ink, breaking pigment into tiny fragments while minimizing injury to the surrounding skin. The body’s immune system then gradually clears these ink particles through the lymphatic system, causing the tattoo to lighten over time.

What color tattoo’s can be treated?

Good results include:

  • black

  • blue

  • dark blue

  • dark green

  • brown

  • red

  • purple

  • orange

More difficult to treat colors include:

  • tan

  • yellow

  • bright green

  • sky blue.

Benefits: non-surgical, reduced risk of scarring compared with older continuous-wave lasers, and progressive fading with each treatment.

Typical series: multiple sessions (often 6–12), spaced 6–8 weeks apart, depending on ink color, depth, age of tattoo, and skin type.

How does it work?

Q-switched laser pulses break up tattoo ink into tiny particles that your immune system gradually clears, causing the tattoo to fade over time.

What are some other indications for Q-switch laser?

Age spots, freckles, sunspots, and some birthmarks.

Pre-care

  • Avoid tanning or sunburn of the tattooed area for at least 2-4 weeks before each session.

  • Do not apply irritants (retinoids, acids, harsh scrubs) directly over the tattoo for about 5–7 days prior.

  • Shave excessive hair over the tattoo 24 hours before treatment if needed, avoiding cuts or irritation.

  • Plan for bandaging and limited friction on the area for several days after treatment.

  • Avoid aspirin 48 hours prior to treatment

  • Stay hydrated prior to treatment

What To Expect

  • The laser feels like a rapid, intense snapping or hot rubber band on the skin. Many clients say that the sensation of having tattoos removed is comparable to having tattoos applied.

  • The tattoo may immediately whiten or “frost,” with redness, swelling, or pinpoint bleeding in the treated area.

  • brief, intense snapping sensation, temporary whitening (“frosting”) of the tattoo, redness, and possible pinpoint bleeding that settle over a few days.

  • Over several days, the area may scab or crust slightly as it heals.

  • Fading is gradual between sessions; most tattoos require multiple treatments spaced 6–8+ weeks apart.

Post-care

  • Keep the area clean and dry; gently wash with mild soap and water and pat dry.

  • Apply a thin layer of recommended ointment (such as antibiotic or healing ointment) and cover with a nonstick bandage for the first few days.

  • Avoid soaking (pools, hot tubs, baths), vigorous rubbing, and direct sun until fully healed.

  • Do not pick blisters or scabs; allow them to resolve naturally to reduce scarring risk.

  • Keep the area covered 3-5 days.
