-
Keep the skin cool, avoid hot tubs, saunas, and intense workouts for 24–48 hours.
-
Do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate darkened spots; let them shed naturally.
-
Use gentle cleanser and bland moisturizer; avoid retinoids, acids, and scrubs for about 5–7 days. Make up can generally be used after 24-48 hours, please assure brushes/sponges are clean to avoid risk of infection,
-
Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily and avoid direct sun to reduce risk of hyperpigmentation, the avoidance of sun is necessary while skin is healing.
-
Redness and sensitivity may be present for several days. Cool compresses (no direct ice to face) 5-10 minutes, 3-4 times daily.
-
Vinegar soak: 1 tablespoon of white distilled vinegar with 1 cup of distilled or bottled water. You may soak a clean, soft gauze or cloth in the solution and place gently over the area for 10-15 minutes 2-3 times daily the first 2 days of treatment.
What to expect
-
You will feel brief, warm “snaps” of light during each pulse, often compared to a rubber band. Is it painful? Most clients feel it is generally well tolerated and numbing cream is NOT needed.
-
The skin may look mildly pink and feel warm, like a light sunburn, for a few hours to a couple of days.
-
Brown spots often darken and look like “coffee grounds” before gradually flaking or fading over 7–14 days. Please do NOT pick or peel the skin. Do not exfoliate. Redness and skin tone will improve gradually over 4-6 weeks.
-
Results build gradually. The number of sessions depends on your individual skin goals. Typically, people need a series of 3–5 treatments at 4 week intervals.
